This year the theme for the Met Gala otherwise known as the most fashionable night of the year was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The celebrities who were in attendance last night in New York City didn’t disappoint.

Celebrities hit the red carpet on Monday night, sporting papal-inspired gowns, chainmail costumes reminiscent of the Crusades.

The gala which is quite recognized for it stylish and extravagant outfits, expensive tickets, exclusive guest list is held annually on first Monday in May and this year was hosted by Donatella Versace, Rihanna, Amal Clooney, Anna Wintour and Stephen and Christine Schwarzman.
