I am not a fan of second hand fashion markets as evident in the article “Second Hand Cloths in Africa; Help? Or An Attack on The African Fashion Industry?“, however this is beyond tragic. That some of the poorest traders whom have invested a major amount of the resources sit back and watch their whole investment burn to ashes.

Property worth thousands of Ghana Cedis were destroyed when fire gutted the Kantamanto market on Sunday morning. According to personnel from the Fire Service, the location of the shops and the geography of the area affected the fire fighting efforts.

Luckily there has been no reports of any lives lost. However the tragedy goes a long way leaving families and traders in serious tears. See images by Emmanuel Bobby here.
