Former winner of Miss Universe Ghana beauty pageant, Pearl Amoah has had an interesting transition of careers, which has all led to her preaching in commercial buses.

In the year 1994, young Pearl Amoah won the crown as Miss Northern Region. She then Moved to Accra in Ghana where she participated in the Miss Universe Ghana beauty pageant in the year 1996 and deservedly won the crown.

She then moved from being beauty queen into modeling. During that time she worked with international modelling agencies such as Ford Modeling Agency in New York between 1997 and 2005. She also worked for world-renowned modelling agencies as Metropolitan Modeling Agency, Metropolitan Paris Modeling Agency.

But it wasn’t to long before she had another change of hat. The model then turned designing after she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management from Westbourne University London, and a diploma in Architecture & Interior Design from Parsons School of Design in New York.

In 2006 she was invited by the Harvard Business School as a Fashion Moderator for their annual conference organized by the African Business Club.

Shortly after she started the Pearl Amoah Fashion Show to cement her fashion mogul status.

The fashion show was to offer a platform for young Ghanaian to develop confidence, talents, values and principles while opening doors for them to build a career in fashion.

Pearl Amoah began to show much success in the fashion business after launching her store at the Junction Mall. In fact during her time of designing she managed to get herself on Accra Fashion Week displaying an iconic collection with a couple of images shown below.

But Pearl had bigger dreams for the fashion world and did not only want to help herself. In 2017 she launched the PAF outlet. This was Ghana’s first Ghanaian designer multi brand store that reached out to designers who will buy space in the store to have their items on sale. Which you can read about below.

However, as always any project that involves a large number of African designers as the sole source of profit is very difficult. We have seen the rise of fall of many fashion events, online stores and more. Later in the year there store had diffucties. Pearl even once informed us at FashionGHANA how she barely makes money from the store.

There were Rumours by designers that hosted their clothes at the junction mall saying that she was not paying them their due money, some were saying when clients come in to buy their clothes she would instead encourage them to buy hers and so forth.

Eventually the store closed down, when and were is unknown at this moment. However, we do recall some disgruntled brand owners that were dissatisfied with how finances were handled.

In 2018, news broke out that Pearl Amoah has moved into the business of preaching and she is now Reverend Pearl Amoah, after that the fashion world (if you were not following her social media pages) did not hear from her any longer…….until recently where she was spotted preaching on a Trotro.
