Shine Publications headed by Jerry Sampson is set to host the 4th edition of the Ghana Models Awards 2021 on Saturday the 18th of September.

The event that aims to put Ghanaian models on the map will take place at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Headquarters in Accra Central.

“Modelling over the years has changed, it has gone through the mill and passed the stage of it being just for entertainment.” – Jerry stated as he work towards empowering modeling agencies to transform the modeling industry from entertainment to business.

“When you go outside, there are people living off modeling but when you come to Ghana our case is different which should not be and that is what my firm is bent on erasing with the theme for this year’s awards ceremony,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview.

The night will host awards for categories Overall model oty, model oty editorial, model oty runway, Best photographer, Modeling event of the year, Vixen of the year, Modeling TV Show, Catwalk trainer of the year and more.

But Jerry doesn’t feel his work ends with the night of awards as he continues his campaign to level the playing field of models in Africa. “Nowadays, we see huge corporate institutions in Ghana being represented by foreign models, this is a big threat to the industry in Ghana and it must be attended to as soon as possible”, he added.

As the team rounds up the vigorous voting that was just executed. The young event organizer is in hopes that pushing agencies to align themselves right with models via balance sheets for jobs and more, can change the narrative of the success of models in the country.

This year organization selected the Canadian-based Ghanaian model Nini Amerlise as its brand ambassador. According to Wikipedia, Nini Amerlise is a multi-award-winning Canadian Supermodel, Entrepreneur, Actress, and TV host for Travel Africa Network. Her career catapulted after winning Season one of Supermodel Canada.
