The Ghanaian players ostentatiously made a statement about the Ghanaian northern culture as they arrived in Qatar ahead of their first match in the World Cup 2022.

The national football team for Ghana called the ‘Black Stars’ arrived in Qatar ahead of their first match in World Cup 2022.

What’s exciting about their arrival is how the entire team together with staff members stylishly rocked a Ghanaian traditional smock attire called ‘Fugu’

Whoever came up with the idea of the players wearing the ‘fugu’ really did a great job. The players give the look a whole new trendy twist to the usual way most Ghanaians wear it. Some paired it with black shorts and white sneakers and others preferred to look more casual by wearing slides. Some of them also added cool sunshade glasses to the whole look.

Why is this Phenomenal?
FUGU is a powerful heritage,  it is a comfortable and distinctive Northern Ghanaian male outfit. They are heavy strips of strong hand-woven fabric, which come in various colors and may be augmented with authentic traditional designs. Dagomba and Dagbani men have for centuries, maintained their proud heritage by wearing and producing them. Embrace the strength of tradition when you wear the Fugu and that reflects the great culture of Ghana.  

The message was clear as each of the fine-looking Black Stars players had a kente sash with inscriptions that read, ‘beyond the return, visit Ghana center of the world.
