It recently released the lookbook for its latest ‘FW23/24’ collection over the past month on its social media page. The collection is titled ‘What If Love Never Comes‘ and was captured by Ethan Hart. The 30-piece collection examines the questions we ask ourselves about belonging, identity, and purpose, with the brand’s signature juxtapositions in fabrics and its unique take on human sociology with the feature of bold colors and fabrication. According to the brand “The FW collection is a unique color story that depicts the ultimate love story; the one found in oneself. Rather than dark and moody tones, the collection goes through quite a spectrum of colors, from watercolor prints to dark greens. It comprises woven fabrics made by CABES in Burkina, locally sourced fabrics in Lagos and a mix of vegan leathers and faux furs. The technicality of the production ranged between hand stitch waves to Yoruba embroidery.” Despite an interesting array of clothes, the misuse and abuse of labeling collections with western seasons are rampant amongst African creatives. Titling your collection FW23/24 is literally absurd. The will to emulate the west is risible. Nevertheless, view the collection below.
