Accra Fashion Week Scoops Another Awards At The Innagural Edition Of Ghana Style Awards

The maiden edition of Ghana Style Awards took place on the 17th of May 2021 at the Metropolitan Assembly Hall. This is roughly a month and a half prior to the long awaiting FashionGHANA Honours & Awards 2021 set to take place on the 29th of May 2021.

It was put together by the young and new enterprise, Model TV Ghana, and was attended by a number of their nominees and winners and opened doors to recognizing many new and established talents in the industry.

Accra Fashion Week SH2020/21 show was awarded for the best Virtual Show by GSA21. Virtual shows are fairly new in Africa and across the whole continent on 3 fashion weeks have executed virtual shows. Within Ghana itself, there has been 3 main virtual shows, to date that would be GTP’s show, Christie Brown’s show, and Accra Fashion Week.

Although nominees were not presented, AFWk scooped the best virtual show for the year.

Accra Fashion Week’s virtual fashion show made a historical impact in Ghana by shooting its virtual show in the nation’s most prominent historical spots. This follows the team winning best fashion event of the year in 2020 at the Ghana Models Awards.

The locations included the Black Star Square and the Nkrumah Museum park. To date the fashion week has over 3millions views on it’s youtube channel and over 15000 subscribers. Something far ahead the board in comparison to all other fashion week’s in Africa.
