Ugandan fashion stylist, Deriq Kissinger is running hot with his sense of creativity. Deriq is a storyteller through fashion and art specifically bringing the royalty of Africa to the forefront of the camera lens with his mystique approach to styling. His art expressions come in the form of paintings and sculptures, as well as cloth making.

He’s got a sheer extinct to determine the perfect color amalgamation for bodypainting. He uses combinations of various African artifacts to create unique arts of cultural and fashion essence. His ability to marry culture and fashion in different situations is one thing African fashion needs.

Deriq Recreated Isis

One of his latest masterpieces portrays the golden era of Egyptian hieroglyphics art merged with modern Ugandan fashion beautiful captured on two stunning models @iamjudithheard and @mimy.ashley as known on Instagram. The models donned with wings similar to the Egyptian goddess Isis.

Isis was the daughter of the earth God Geb and the sky goddess Nut and the sister of the deities Osiris, Seth, and Nephthys. She was also a wife to Osiris and bore him a son, Horus. Whom many historians believe the story of Jesus was made up from.

Deriq also took time to ensure hieroglyphics were carefully drawn on the faces of the models, specifically speaking the foreheads. Whilst finishing off the magical royal touch with African-orientated clothing and accessories. Most of the images were captured at the riverside by Ugandan photographer Pherd Suter, assembling a visual masterpiece that has served the internet with extraordinary beauty.

We forget they are just as human and probably going through their own issues and fighting their own battles while handling ours at the same time. I think it’s only fair that we grow to be the ones doing the saving sometimes.

You can simply give your guardian angel a call once in a while to just find out how they are really doing or how you can be of help. Not because you are in trouble and you need saving.”
