The designer has thrilled social media with a video commercial of his Deenim Collection that is making some good noise on social. Filmed by Nana K. Duah at one of the iconic monumental centers in Ghana, the Kwame Nkrumah Maosoleum, the three minutes commercial starred TV3’s Date Rush star Abraham Stanley-Pierre, Sherifa, Edem Quarshie, and the black angel, Adelaide Somuah Twum. The Deenim collection follows his last African print orientated look book ‘The Great Escape’ as seen below. The creative director has Boyedoe revealed: “The ‘DeÉnim’ (which means ‘EverForward’) from Akan, is a defiantly optimistic call to take the lead in creating a more positive future; a future where innovation, eco-consciousness, and sustainability go hand in hand. ‘DeÉnim’ is also a witty play on Denim; the repurposed fabric used for this collection is fused with an ethically handwoven smock.” He continues “Our afroluxe yet sustainable positioning affords us the opportunity to create around the themes of deconstruction and reconstruction all wrapped up in the simple notion of timelessness and 'DeÉnim' is no different. Every look in the iconic collection employs minimal to zero-waste processes and the result is dynamite, disruptive and uncompromising.” The video has the models vibrantly moving in their denim outfits in a rhythm of African culture.
