(Photo by Andy Kropa/Invision/AP) The new year isn’t going too well for the fashion world as yet again another stakeholder has kicked the bucket. Former Miss USA and US attorney, Cheslie Kryst has passed away. She has allegedly jumped to her death from a building in Manhattan on Sunday morning, the New York Police Department has confirmed. The 2019 pageant winner’s body was reportedly found in street below Orion Building where she had a ninth-floor apartment in the 60-storey Manhattan building. In a statement, her family confirmed her death by saying, “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.” Hailing from North Carolina, the former lawyer practiced civil litigation and sought to help reform the American justice system by helping prisoners who may have been sentenced unjustly to get reduced punishments on pro bono. She received three degrees from two universities, Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina.
