Cynthia Abdullahi Emerges The Winner Of Nigerias Next Super Model

After a night of undiluted fun, keenly, we’re pleased to announce that 17 year-old Miss Cynthia Abdullahi from Kogi State has emerged the winner of Nigeria’s Next Super Model 2013, walking away with a brand new Hyundai Accent car courtesy of Mr. Ifeanyi Oputa of Studio24.

It was an evening to remember despite the venue (Oriental Hotels, Lagos) being filled to its capacity! From sixteen (16) contestants to five (5) namely: Ayanleke Tomi, Ifunnaya Ezenwa, Jessica Okeke, Cynthia Abdullahi and Obi Favour Jacqueline, it was a keenly contested model search. With judges like Declan Eytan from Vogue Italy, Ema Searle, Jennifer Olize of Music Meets Runway, Mon Ami, Dimeji Alara, models Eunice Eyo and Bunmi Ademokoya, their decision became final when they rooted for Cynthia.

Founded by Mrs. Joan Okorodudu in 2007, this model search has grown in leaps and bounds over the last six years. It is the ONLY model search in Africa that give away brand new cars yearly since its first installment in 2007. The winner back in 2007 was the beautiful and willowy Ms. Eunice Eyo while we had Favour Lucky emerging the winner in 2012. Brands like FTV, Studio24, Bouygues Construction Nig. Ltd., IBCNL, Dark and Lovely, STUDIO24, New African Woman, MODA Style, Best Western Hotel, Rays Inn, FAB Magazine, StyleMania to name but a few have thrown their weight behind NNSM.

 

Another interesting thing about NNSM is that all its winners (and even runner-ups) are usually booked within a year for fashion weeks worldwide! While most organizers of pageants in Nigeria are buoyed by pecuniary and parochial gains, the homegrown brand NNSM takes models’ future seriously. In a nascent industry where models are left to their whims/caprices moreso in contabescent state, it is refreshing to know that out there, there’s some person genuinely interested in putting Nigerian models on the world map.

Undoubredly, NNSM is Africa’s biggest model search. It is much more than the typical pageants organized in Africa.We’re excited about Cynthia and we hope to see her launch her modeling career on international world stage like her predecessors!
