FashionGHANA.com Gets Bleaching Cream Billboards Taken Down #BoycottNivea

Earlier this year on June 19th, before the Nivea bleach advert, FashionGHANA.com reported on this ‘Perfect White’ bleaching cream advert, holding the government accountable for its words in regards to banning bleaching cream in Ghana.

Although we were the only ones blowing the whistle at the time, it seems the Nivea bill boards which came out this month got more people on the band wagon as Nivea is a bigger brand.

 

Following these reports, we emailed our article to the FDA as well as made two calls. Although we were consistently referred it was clear there was an issue acknowledged of bleaching cream posters.

Today we can gladly say the bill boards are down everywhere including that near my residence as seen below.

So that’s a good start. To add more power to this victory, we also acknowledged a video today by the beautiful Hamamat indicating more of the BillBoards have been taken down. Hamamat who also started a petition will soon be proposing hers to the FDA. Watch her video below and know that it doesn’t hurt to try. We hope this can be an indication for our neighboring west Africans to kick bleach out their countries to. See Hamamats video below.
