Back in 2017, Accra Fashion Week made history by being the first event in Ghana to host 30 different countries all participating in the same fashion show. Since 2016 the ground breaking event has continued to make history after history each year changing the narrative of Fashion in Ghana.

The event is the first ever to merge African seasons with the fashion styles and look, creating the Chilly/Rainy season which takes place in March with clothes set for the June period, and then the Summer/Harmattan set in October creating collections from the December period onward.

According to the founder of FashionGHANA and Accra Fashion Week, Nana Tamakloe, Accra Fashion Week 2019 Chilly Rainy is not over yet. The just ended event that centralized fashion in October has much more to it. He stated “Accra Fashion Week is not into the business of doing shows for the sake of doing shows, we are in a revolutionary position! These collections on our last event are trending on the internet, and there is a lot more to do with them. From a guest point of view the event is over, but from our stand point here we are still working because the event was and is always about the designers collection, and they would soon be launched to the public.”

On speaking on what people can expect for the next event he stated “The next event is simply going to be crazy. Forget everything we have done before, despite how spectacular it was, despite how amazing or creative you thought it was. After this event you will change your train of thought on fashion events in Ghana and maybe internationally. We are set to witness the best fashion experience ever! People will finally know where Ghana stands on

Accra Fashion Week CR20 dates are set and the event will hold from the 25th to the 30th of October 2020. However for now you can watch the previous event on youtube as seen below.
