Larry Jay Unleashes His Brand New Soyayya Collection! Check Out All The Haute Looks

Ghanaian fashion designer and founder of Larry Jay just outdoors his Soyayya collection last weekend and it was compiled of strong listed must-have items. SOYAYYA, meaning LOVE in the Hausa dialects – is chiefly inspired by the travels Jafaru, the founder made to the North of Ghana, the breadbasket of Ghana, where his ancestors hail from.

This visit is what translated into the fashion sensation exhibited in the Soyayya collection. The brand fell in love with the countryside all over again. Though nature has always been one of the brand’s biggest inspirations, so it was only right this was heavily represented in his latest collection.

Generally, the Larry Jay brand, which started as an accessory brand before entering into clothing in 2016, is inspired by Nature, various African cultures and Arts. Even more so this time, they experimented with hues and tones that can be seen from dawn to dusk. Shades of golden sunrise and sunset yellows, hot and burnt oranges, sky whites and midnight blues (indigo), all whilst compromising the brand’s classical aesthetic of comfortable clothing

Larry Jay’s latest collection SOYAYYA, celebrates the cosmopolitan joint, diversity, and contemporary influence of timeless African lifestyles. This season Jafaru’s played with Guinean-inspired Tiedyes, paired with well-crafted bags and satchels made from natural Jute fibers, Arabian inspired mules/shoes fascinated by large straw hats woven by women in the Upper Eastern Region of Ghana.
