Ghanaian Grammy Nominee, Rocky Dawuni Makes A Strong ‘African Fashion Statement’ On The 64 Grammy’s Night

53-year-old Rocky Dawuni was nominated for the Best Global Music Album category at the just ended Grammy Awards which took place on the eve of 3rd April 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rocky is a legendary Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and record producer who performs ‘Afro Roots’ music, a sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife, and Soul music. His last album was dubbed ‘Voice of Bunbon’ Vol 1, which features the single ‘Beautiful People’.

His daughter Safiyah Dawuni joined him on the night looking elegant in a Deep V neck, Blue cut-away fit, and flare dress. Rocky on the other hand took to present himself in the Afro-Urban fashion brand Juju Eye. He proudly rocked a cream Kaftan shirt with an African mask embellished to the left of the button placket.

Rocky Dawuni lost the Best Global Music Album to Angelique Kidjo, another legendary singer who hails from Benin and won the award with the ‘Her Mother Nature’ album which was released in 2021.

The album features the likes of Mr Eazi, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Lionel Loueke, Sampa The Great, The Roots,
Ghetto Boy and many more.

Although Dawumi may have lot to Angelique Kidjo, he won our hearts with his beautiful fashion statement-making a point to be known in African fashion and giving credit to the brand Juju Eye. Watch in the video below.
