See the Bag Models Can’t Walk Without This Fashion Month

True It bags have serious staying power. Think of icons such as Chanel’s quilted flap style, Dior’s Saddle, or Fendi’s Baguette; these vintage bags continue to stand the test of time, and still feel fresh even decades after they were first introduced. They also continue to be some of the most-coveted pieces on resale sites today—I know a few bag fanatics who have set up alerts every time a particular style drops on The Real Real or eBay. (I may or may not be guilty of this myself.)

This fashion month, trendsetting models have been carrying around one particular It bag that’s an ongoing designer classic: Prada’s re-issued nylon mini bags from the 2000s. The sleek style was such a hit in the early-aughts that the Italian label recently relaunched the silhouette, keeping intact its compact shape, thick shoulder strap, and signature triangular metal logo. Just today, Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber were spotted carrying the bag in two different colorways in Milan; Bella Hadid has also repeatedly worn it in the past. Back in New York, Dua Lipa was seen today carrying a dusty brown version, which gave her skater-girl outfit a more fashion-girl feel.

The small, no-frills shape of these bags certainly falls in line with what’s hot in the bag market right now. Louis Vuitton’s pochette bag—also tiny and discreet—has been having a resurgence as well; Jenner’s a fan of the Stephen Sprouse graffiti style, also from the 2000s. And while we were convinced here at Vogue that giant hobo bags were going to be the next big thing, it’s clear that these stylish trendsetters are still on board with barely-there, itty-bitty shapes—though the trend hasn’t reached Lizzo-level small. Yet.
