The victim, Edward Borketey Sackey, who was in his final year, had just finished an exam when a heated argument with a classmate took a deadly turn. Edward, a student in the General Arts Department, reportedly got into a fight with Godwin, a student from the Visual Arts Department, over a trivial argument about who was wealthier. The altercation, which started as a verbal spat, quickly escalated into violence. According to Edward’s cousin, what started as a seemingly harmless disagreement turned deadly when Godwin pulled out a knife and stabbed Edward three times in the chest. Edward had reportedly sought help from teachers after being threatened by Godwin, but his pleas were allegedly ignored. His cousin, who had tried to seek help from her uncle, returned to find Edward bleeding profusely. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the young student was pronounced dead on arrival, leaving his family and friends devastated.
