#BadNews: R.I.P. Paris Based Cameroonian Designer Patou Manga Of Patou Style

Today we share tragic news that has come to us that France Based Cameroon designer, Patou Manga of Patou style has passed away. We do not have the full details but rumour has it he died from a cardiac arrest. Like a number of African designers living in the west, most engage in various events and activities in and around Africa.

 

Taking this from a personal note, I have talked to this young man quite a few times over facebook. He was always eager to have us publish a feature on him and cover his activities, but we kept reminding him that FashionGHANA.com doesn’t do features and is always limited to current news and activities in Africa and that at any stage if he participates in any activities in Africa he should alert us.

But he would always pop up online to talk and every now and then and still urge us to publish his work. It got so much that onetime before he could ask, I simply sent him the article Patou Manga For African Fashion Week Amsterdam even though the news wasn’t African based, I thought that will ease the push a little.

He cherished it and posted it everywhere. After, he kept asking about when we can have him over in Ghana but all we could do was to point him to a number of event. Just today, In the process of working towards Accra Fashion Week, I thought this would be the perfect time to send the man a message, only to find out he passed away yesterday. Speechless, all we can say on behalf of the FashionGHANA.com team, is R.I.P. Patou Manga.
