Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 574 It’s pleasing to see Burkina Faso take a great step forward with a fashion week. In terms of fashion it is been one of the most quiet countries in West Africa. But recently it launched Ouaga Fashion Week 2013 which is probably the first international event with fashion to take place, following the Kora Music Awards hosted 3 years ago. Ouaga which is short for the very interesting capital city name, Ouagadougou. The show was highly rated by press in Burkina Faso and the event featured designers from across Africa. Most important, our cover industry figure, designer Beatrice Arthur of B’Exotiq, the only Ghanaian designer present, showed an amazing set of funky garments. She attended the show right after her exhibition at the just ended Africa Fashion Reception in Paris. The collection was well received with much buyers interest and has opened greater opportunities for the humble Bee. Very soon we would be unleashing a full set of interviews with one of Ghana’s proud designers Beatrice Arthur. For now here are some images of her collection at Ouaga Fashion Week 2013. Enjoy!
