AFI Reschedules Cape Town Fashion Week For 2024

April and May bring the glitz and glamour of fashion week season to South Africa, with major fashion entities like South African Fashion Week and African Fashion International (AFI) taking center stage.

These organizations typically hold two fashion weeks annually, one in April/May for the autumn/winter season and another in October/November for spring/summer.

AFI traditionally showcases its autumn/winter collections in Cape Town and spring/summer collections in Joburg. However, plans for Cape Town Fashion Week, slated for April or May, have hit a snag.

In a bold move to adapt to the evolving fashion landscape, Africa Fashion International (AFI) has announced a strategic evolution for its signature Fashion Week events. Consequently, Cape Town Fashion Week 2024 has been postponed to later this year.

“Building on its remarkable 17-year legacy of nurturing African design talent and propelling them onto the global stage, AFI is pioneering a strategic evolution for its signature Fashion Week events,” the organization declared.

The rescheduling of Cape Town Fashion Week aims to facilitate this exciting evolution. As of now, the new dates for AFI Cape Town Fashion Week are yet to be confirmed.
