Business woman, mother of 3 and CEO of SmockyWorld, Gertrude Kunde-Kwallinjam, just won fashion enterprenuer of the year at Ghana’s 40 under 40s awards. And award event dedicated to recognising industry movers and shakers in Ghana under the age of 40. The event works to honour and celebrate a cross-section of the nations most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age forty from a wide range of industries we cover, who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have risen up the ranks of their companies or industries at a relatively young age as a result of this.

Gertrude Kunde-Kwallinjam ended the night by banking on the Best fashion entrepreneur awards on behalf of her fashion world and brand Smockyworld Ltd, a one-stop fashion centre rebranding a variety of quality, original high-end hand-woven and hand-dyed Gonja, Yendi, Bolga, Wa and Burkina smock materials. The brand has been featured on major platforms in Ghana including Accra Fashion Week.

Besides running her own business, Gertrude is also renowned in the banking sector; a career which she started at Intercontinental Bank (now Access Bank), and moved on to a branch manager role at Fidelity Bank seven years ago. Now, as the Northern Regional Sales Manager for Fidelity Bank Ghana, she runs branches and agents in the Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions. Her hard work and intelligence have bagged her the Fidelity Orange Award on multiple occasions.

Gertrude is currently a part of the Harvard ManageMentor programme and holds a Commonwealth Executive MBA certificate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and she has more wins lined up ahead of her. Congratulations to the whole team at smockyworld.
