DAY 1 Accra Fashion Week | MIKOKO DELUXE

One of Ghana’s very own ready-to-wear fashion brand Mikoko Deluxe, which has been in existence for a while and have recently re-launched under the brand name Mikoko Deluxe gracefully opened the show for day 1 Accra Fashion Week Summer Harmattan “Virtual Insanity”. The collection which is a high fashion, has a fusion of African by playing with prints, patterns and Asian culture mixed into one collection. One thing that is prominent with the Mikoko Deluxe collection is the sheer use of colors, fluidity which comes with the almost imminent kimono and cape going on. The colors came in handy and perfectly has a way of going with each each, although we can see two different cultures fused into one line, there is still a high percentage of Africanisms which shines through, it comes in different shades we must confess, from the fringe face masks, to the rich African beads, fascinators which gives it its identity.

The mikoko deluxe collection which was showcased at this years Accra Fashion Week Summer Harmattan Virtual Insanity can be identified as an everyday woman piece, but it comes with a high level of appreciation for arts and sexiness which also characterizes the collection. Guest were captivated by the luscious collection it was something that they could pretty much relate to, although it comes off as a ready-to-wear collection we must add that it comes with a certain kind of restriction and based on the environment and culture we find ourselves, wearing a cringe crop top and A-line skirt during the day would definitely create eye balls on you, so preferably going with that style choice for an evening hangout is going to be ok. Mikoko Deluxe is undeniably the future of fashion in Africa and with their master piece presentation at the just ended Accra Fashion Week, we can say for a fact that the entire industry in Ghana and indeed Africa is very ready to embrace this creativity and incredible piece of work which is Luxury brewed right here from the motherland.
