New Expensive Ghanaian Luxury Brand Mikoko Deluxe Launches It’s Customized T Shirts For $50/300ghs

In case you spot anyone wearing a Mikoko T-Shirt there should be lots of questions to follow! The first being is, did you really pay $50 for a white t-shirt?

The fashion brand which has been dubbed extremely expensive by many Ghanaians hit the market earlier this week with their logo-branded Mikoko t-shirt selling at a whopping $50. That is generally 300ghs roughly around the minimum wage in Ghana.

Despite the brand in its earlier stages, it has decided to pull a move as Kanye did back in 2013 when he fully sold out his plain white t-shirts for $120.

However, the question is how big is the Mikoko brand in order to pass a successful sale of $50 t-shirts in a country like Ghana during this pandemic era.

After speaking to the director Millicent Tamakloe she clarified the shirts are very limited and not for everyone. There is a maximum of only 200 in production. 70 of which are giving to their favorite clients and style influencers and the remaining will be put up for sale.

“We only launched them last week, and to date we have sold 32. And more enquiries are coming in so we are doing better than expected”

According to the team at Mikoko, they don’t intend to make the fashion brand one of mainstream popularity but one that resonates strictly amongst a luxury clientele base. It hinted a taste of its jewelry line in their last editorial by Sharon O Photography teasing us of its soon-to-launch necklaces and earrings in the images below.
