I love wearing fragrance—I love everything about it. But as with all things, there is a right way to do it. Some women prefer sticking with one signature scent, while others like to change things up, depending on the occasion or the season. I personally love wearing two or more.
A lot of women worry about wearing too much perfume which doesn’t make sense to me. Your Fragrance reflects your personality, choose something that suits you and allow it to become a part of who you are. Regardless of your preference, knowing how to pick the right scent is the first step in successfully wearing perfume.

Understanding the different types and finding your scent–
• Eau de colognes fade within an hour, while eau de toilette last about two hours.
• L’eau de parfum contains a higher concentration of perfume oil and last up to four hours without fading.
• Perfume classics and perfume extracts contain the highest concentration and last up to six hours.
Perfumes have three notes of fragrance: the top, middle, and base. The top note strikes the nose immediately but wears away within five minutes. The middle note develops after about ten minutes and the base takes about fifteen. The middle and base notes are the ones that last for hours, so you need to wait for those notes to develop in order to get a full understanding of the perfume’s scent.
Now to find a scent, think about when you’ll be wearing it and what season.
If it is a daily fragrance for work or just hanging, you may want something lighter and less powerful. If you’re just looking for a new signature scent, shop around, and wear before you buy. You can test it on a piece of paper, which is often supplied at the store, if you’re buying the perfume in person. Alternatively, you can spray a small amount onto the inside of your wrist and wait ten minutes before smelling it. This allows the full range of the fragrance to emerge, giving you a better idea of whether or not the scent appeals to you.
How to Wear It-
Starting the day, I prefer to wear daytime fragrances on the lower part of my body, as the perfume evaporates, it rises up. I spritz behind my wrists, knees and lower back. . And in the evening, I use anything that makes me feel sensual, I spray it behind my ears and neck so that it envelops right away.

Never rub wrists together—especially with naturals! Rubbing creates friction, and friction creates heat. Essentially, you have rubbed off the top notes of the fragrance—which are usually what attracted you to buying it in the first place.

Don’t spray them into your clothes but rather hold the bottle five to seven inches away from your body and spray each area once. The fragrance should mist onto your skin (if the area feels wet you are holding it too close). Fan your wrists through the air a few times, you will begin to smell the fullness of the fragrance on your skin within a few minutes, which is the time it takes for the alcohol solution to develop and release the top notes.
If the scent is strong walk into fresh air and move around for the excess to evaporate.

Remember that your closet is the perfect place to store your fragrance. If properly stored, a fragrance can keep for several years.
