He died on Friday, April 9, at the age of 50. After his death, rumours surfaced that Beyoncé and her Jay-Z had purchased the late rapper’s master recordings for $10million. However, this has been dismissed by the family of DMX. In a statement shared by Complex, DMX’s family said: ‘There have been a few rumors following our loved one, Earl Simmons’, passing that we’d like to clear up. No one has bought Earl’s masters.’ Such rumours remain a mystery as to why it started as they seem to have absolutely no reason for it’s origins.
