PICS: The Gorgeous Karema Tumukunde Emerges At The Newly Crowned Miss Uganda 2023

The last Miss Uganda was held in July 2019, when Oliver Nakakande was crowned the winner and has been the reigning queen until 2021 when Elizabeth Bagaya took over from Oliver in April 2021 after the latter left the country to pursue her studies.

The reason for the delay of the Miss Uganda event was due to the Covid-19 pandemic leaving Oliver as queen for over 3 years. But that reign came to an end in 2023 when a new queen Karema Tumukunde was crowned on the 19th of March 2023.

The night returned with a glamorous red carpet event on Saturday at UMA Multipurpose Hall with Nakaseke District and it was attended by the elites of the Ugandan celebrity world.

Over twenty finalists tussled it out in different categories and at the end of the night, Karema Tumukunde emerged as the winner and was crowned Miss Uganda 2023.

The night was hosted by Mitch Egwang and Anita Fabiola and saw performances from the likes of Levixone, Jackie Chandiru, and B2C Music, among others.

In the second position was Whitney Martha Ademun while Prossy Agwang settled for the third position. Jerusha Muwanguzi and Jesca Sserwadda occupied the two final places in this year’s beauty pageant.

Karema Tumukunde now takes over from Elizabeth Bagaya and received a Toyota Wish car and an opportunity to represent Uganda at the Miss World contest.
