Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 101 Kenyan actress Lupita Nyongo’s gorgeous pear-dazzled dress she wore to The Oscars last Sunday has been stolen! The dress, valued at $150,000, was reportedly taken out of her hotel room at the London West Hollywood. The first thought that comes to mind is why Lupita isn’t really wearing much work of designers from her home country anyways. It is such a regular habbit with the ‘I went abroad and I made it’ African celebrities who only pick up support for their home town when they are no longer in fashion. Nyong’o tried to file a police report immediately, but couldn’t do so herself, since she does not own the dress; it was on loan from Calvin Klein, the source added. “We got call at about 11:30 last night from someone at the London Hotel about a high value dress that was stolen from a hotel room,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Officer John Mitchell confirmed. Police are now reviewing surveillance footage from the hotel that was filmed between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday — the period in which the thief struck, law enforcement sources told TMZ. Nyong’o was not in the room at the time. How terrible! With a dress as unique as that one, it’s not like whoever took it will be able to get very far. ….unless they plan on just shaving off the pearls & selling them to jewelers. africandressfashionkenyalupitaoscar dressstolen Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail Nana Tamakloe Founder of FashionGHANA.com and Accra Fashion Week.
