Meet 9 Delegates Set To Represent The African Continent In Miss Universe 2023! Who Has Your Vote?

We approach the 71st edition of Miss Universe & the thought that only 6 black contestants have ever won the competition in itself is an embarrassment for the organization. Out of the 6th, only two have been African. These are Leila Lopes from Angola in 2011, and Zozibini from ‎South Africa in 2019.

Nevertheless, like all sports, every year is a new year and here we have another new year of Africans looking forward to a European entity to justify our beauty. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisana, USA.

With almost up to 90 delegates, the contestants will go through a series of competitions from national costumes, swimwear, and evening gowns.

The African countries set to be represented in this years competition are Ghana – Engracia Afua K. Mofuman, Cameroon – Mouketey Lynette Monalisa Jelly, Nigeria – Hannah Iribhogbe, Mauritius – Alexandrine Belle-etoile, Seychelles – Gabriella Gonthier, Angola – Swelia Da Silva Antonio, Namibia – Cassia Sharpley, South Africa – Ndavi Nokeri, and last but not least Equatorial Guinea – Alba Isabel Obama Moliko.
