Eccentric wild and probably Africa’s most understated model, it’s the one and only 22-year-old Dosha Deng. A stunning dark-skinned beauty hailing from…you guessed it, South Sudan.
With her striking facial features and seductive body, Dosha has managed to whip up some of the most vigorous editorials that will astonish anyone who is into the art of modeling. At the age of 17, Dosha made it to British Vogue’s Top 10 Challenge, of which Ghanaian editor Edward Enningful selected her for a personal interview about my life. Seeing something in her before others did.
Dosha is currently signed to one of the world’s biggest agencies and has a wide range of brands under her belt. She aims to be one of the greats in the modeling industry such as icons like Grace Jones and Naomi Campbell, and there is a strong resemblance in her modeling expressions to them.
Deng has always had a DIY approach to building her portfolio and calling out industry prejudices, and it speaks volumes. “I’ve always been damned for having dark skin,” she says to iconmagc.com “Modelling taught me that dark skin can be beautiful. When I understood that – in the 11th grade – I knew I wanted to pursue it. I shaved my head to give me confidence.”
In our opinion, she really needs to be connected with a top pr agent and there is no doubt she would be a household name. see bits of her portfolio.
