He won Artiste of the Year at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for his best known single “Dancehall King”, and has appeared films such as Never Say Never, The trial of Shatta Wale, and Shattered Lives. His fans ‘Shatta Movement’ were entangled with rival fans of dancehall artist Stonebwoy, known as ‘Bhim Nation’. In the dispute Shatta was referred to as the local champion as in popularity was deemed as local whilst Stonebwoy had worked with Beanieman, Morgan Heritage and more. However all this changed courtesy of Beyonce and Jay Z, and now the local champion reference is totally nonexistent. The song which dropped late 2019 has only just released visuals of the video which sees him and the Queen B, aka Beyonce, this is definitely going to set off much higher levels for the dancehall singer and act as a great intro for Beyonce’s upcoming movie ‘Black is King’.
