When it comes to Tanzanian fashion and its rich history, one can not speak of the genre without mentioning the name Mustafa Hassanali. The celebrated Tanzanian couturier is a qualified doctor who has made a name from himself in the clothing arena as a renowned fashion designer.

But fashion designing is not the only hat he wears in the world of fashion, he is also the founder and organiser of Swahili Fashion Week and Swahili Fashion awards. A Fashion Week that began in year 2008.

Hassanali’s collections have been shown widely throughout Africa and Italy. His work features detailed beadwork and embellishments. His work has been showcased at the Cape Town fashion week, Vukani Fashion Awards in Pretoria, Miss Ethiopia Beauty pageant, Mediterranean Fashion Festival in Sicily, Italy and Uganda and Kenya Fashion Week, as well as signature shows in Tanzania.

His latest embezzlement is dubbed the ‘The Royal Collection’. A set of new outfits presented by the designer for 2022. The collection is inspired by the Tanzanian Travel and Tourism industry, a sector of the country Mustafa Hassanali has had major contributions to. The collection aims to add glamour and glitz to Safari excursions in Tanzania.

The collection plays with a range of green colours, and it embodies smart casual looks with some of the latest design trends, from batwing dresses, to v-neck split bodice, cape dresses, assymetric pleated designs and more. Definitely something great for the Summer Harmattan season. See it below.
