Innocentia Atsu is a 20-year-old Ghanaian young aspiring model who was born in the capital of Ghana’s Volta Region Ho. According to her, she joined the Face of Accra Fashion Week 2021, because, in her hometown prior to modeling, she had only ever heard of Accra Fashion Week amongst other fashion activities in the nation. She has followed the fashion event ever since she had aspirations to be a model from the age of 16 and has seen the doors and waves that had been paved for other winners ahead of her. Specifically speaking Grace Quaye, who currently fronts the website for London Fashion Week. The first round saw them stretch their legs in t-shirts by the event’s titled sponsor, PayPecker. The second round saw them do the same in swimwear by the new fashion brand Mikoko Deluxe. The 3rd time the girls were called out the top 5 were mentioned and Innocentia Atsu was named the winner, with her first runners-up Naana, and 2nd Runners up Mary. According to the organization, there couldn’t have been a better selection. Judges on the night were Titus Doku of ‘The Models Watch’ and CEO of SmockyWorld Gertrude Kunde-Kwallinjam, who scored were tallied with voting scores and punctuality of the contestants. Despite being second in votes, she was not second in the judges eyes. According to Titus, a judge on the panel “I have seen many unique faces since my time as a stylist in Ghana but there is something about Innocentia, I don’t think it will be long before she becomes an international star.” Innocentia who currently lives alone and takes care of her little sister in a one-bedroom flat decided to put her all into the show. She trained day and nights prior to the show all whilst doing minor jobs for some of the fashion brands to maintain her livelihood and take care of her sister. According to CEO of Accra Fashion Week, Nana Tamakloe “Innocentia is by far very well deserving of the title, but so are many of the others, what you do with it is what proves your worth. However, I would say we’ve not have a winner put in as much dedication to winning the way she did. There is definitely a passion for modeling in her and I think it’s something that the world needs to tap into.” To date Innocentia is the 5th Face of Accra Fashion Week, scooping the title on the 5th anniversary of the show. The event was broadcast live on Homebase TV and has made its mark as the nation’s Prominent show. Innocentia during the fashion week, also strutted for top brands such as Germany’s Impari Moda, Mikoko Deluxe, Canada’s Nykwale, and much more. She is already scheduled to shoot with top photographers such as Sharon O Photographer, Blak Eye photography, and is billed to rock Fashion Connect Africa 2021.
