Many years later, I am thrilled to be embarking on my first solo show in New York and announcing the rebranding of the collection,” Lisa Folawiyo. While she has presented what was then called Jewel By Lisa on numerous international platforms including the Vogue Talents Exhibition in collaboration with Vogue Italia in Milan, Pitti W Tradeshow in Florence, Lagos Fashion & Design Week in Lagos, Nigeria, and Arise Magazine collectives at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week and most recently she presented a capsule collection for the Ethical Fashion Initiative at Alta Roma in Italy in July, this is her first solo show in New York and she doesn’t disappoint. The label’s signature bright prints are set against each other in contrasting layers and topped with the beading that is an essential part of the brand’s aesthetic. Pleats, assymetric hemlines, fringing come into play for fun, modern shapes and texture in a collection where each piece is a statement. It’s easy to love and add the fact that The Lisa Folawiyo collection is designed and manufactured in Lagos, Nigeria and we can’t stop singing it’s praises!
