Not long ago the beautiful Mayowa was crying after being casted and selected to participate in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. An act that prompted us to write the article ‘Why Blacck Models Shouldn’t Make A Big Deal Out Of Participating in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’. The article talked about how black models usually headline the event and it should be the other way round with the show acknowledging the benefits of black models.
Never the less, it was a little awkward when we didn’t see the beautful girl who desired so much to be on the show hit the runway amongst the other African models.
According to Vogue Espana, Mayowa and four other models: Russians Kate Grigorieva, Irina Sharipova and Julia Belyakova and Ukrainian Dasha Khlystun had visa issues and therefore couldn’t attend the show. What a shame! Hopefully next year.
