Success in Ghana is definitely not easy, and with the new coronavirus lockdown and restriction, money flow is at a minimum.

This hardship is definitely killing businesses as well as killing the dreams of local arts and craftsmen. But within this hardship there are many that continue to grind, eventually, get recognized, and still prevail.

A Talent Discovered Via Social Media

One such hard worker goes by the name of @obama_Created on instagram commonly known as Obama the Clay Doctor. He is a sculpturist with a tonne of work under his belt of notable Ghanaian figures.

Despite creating amazing work for years, his public journey to popularity began when he opened his instagram page early last year in February 2020.

It wasn’t too long after that he began to be recognized for his work. In late 2020, he was awarded the Discovery of the Year at the Ghana Arts & Culture Awards in 2020 November.

His work has emulated the faces of popular Ghanaian figures such as John Mahama, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, President Akufo-Addo, and wife, Samira Bawmia and much.

He is also recognized for venturing into the cultural and traditional emulations of Ghana. His work is amazing and we are glad to feature him in our culture and arts segment.
