One thing we love about P Square is they make dance songs and always manage to put a positive message or a few lessons in their tracks, and that is what makes their songs very relevant when they drop.

 

Mind you this is a bi lingual track, a fusion of Yoruba (possibly Igbo) and English, being that I have no clue what the Yoruba words means, it is fairly obvious to pick out the general message via the English words and the video.

I guess the song is somewhat on the level I am on at the moment which a lot of people were on much earlier as I was fairly late to the instagram madness. It questions the behavior of girls that go to the extent of making themselves look different just to impress followers on social media.

It touches on girls who use filters and apps to look a certain way and acknowledge themselves with assets they don’t really have. A quote from the track states “As you ‘dey for’ (are on) twitter, your name for insta (instagram), #sexybootilicioustwister, why you to dey lie….when nothing there to dey shake” In other words, why are you lying about having a booty when you don’t, I’m sure you knew that.

In a dance-able track, there is only so much info you can give to not loose the flavor of making it commercially appealing, but the message is very clear, with a title like ‘Nobody Ugly’ it is a very inverted sign to girls to really consider to put out the real person they are hiding, and stop pretending to be something else for attention.

Then again, instagram is a somewhat new undercover grounds for escort services, some of these popular half naked ladies are just doing business and travelling the world I guess.
