Black Is King is a 2020 American musical film and visual album directed, written, and executive produced by American singer Beyoncé. The film serves as a visual companion to the 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift, a tie-in album curated by Beyoncé for the 2019 remake of The Lion King.

The movie was defintely artistically inspiring and brought Africa to the forefront of Beyonce’s fans eyes. As far as popular representation goes, it’s an amazing gift from Beyonce to many young ladies giving them positive visuals and representations of themselves to aspire to, unlike the current images heavily portrayed by urban female artists on screen.
