Kwame Nsiah-Apau, known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame and nicknamed Rap Doctor, is a Ghanaian musician, songwriter, creative director, and entrepreneur. In more recent years he took on the mantle to be a proud icon of promoting made-in-Ghana goods out of the sheer love for his country and understanding of supporting local businesses.

One area of this the legendary singer embraced was fashion. In a short space and time, he became one of the Ghanaian main prominent fashion icons, not only by surpassing the style standards of most Ghanaian male celebrities but doing so by supporting local brands.

In more recent times we couldn’t help but notice he is beginning to make a louder fashion statement with some emphasis on his collar area. The fashion God has stepped up his neck game and notch and he is not walking the cliche line of gold chains.

The rap doctor is breaking the norm embracing African designed necklaces from cowry shell necklaces to a beaded necklaces. Such culture is not new to Ghana in many traditions and areas, but it’s far from the norm, especially amongst the inner city and suburban neighborhoods. And definitely not embraced amongst the very stylish figures of Ghanaian society.

It might seem like a while, but from the looks of things, Okyeame Kwame is far from finished with his support Made-In-Ghana antics.
