Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 714 PRESS RELEASE BY ISIS MODELS Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 is over. But the buzz is still on. During the fashion week, a milestone occurred when for the first time, six (6) homegrown Nigerian models had “closed casting” for heavyweight fashion brands namely: Dolce and Gabbana, DSquared, Jil Sanders and Versace. It didn’t end there. The models went on to showcase for (in no particular order) ASG, Carlo Tivioli, Mario Dice, Sala Castello, Shelly Jin and Stella Jean to name just a few. The models are: Aisha Bello, Bunmi Ademokoya, Imade Ogbewi, Cynthia Abdullahi and Queen Onyemachi. With the exception of Bunmi (who was the face of MAC at the NYFW Spring/Summer 2014), the aforementioned models have won Africa’s biggest and most consistent model search, Nigeria’s Next Super Model. In the last few years, these Nigerian models have proven their mettle by strutting the ramps in multifarious fashion weeks in and outside the Continent. It was at such fashion weeks that Aisha and Bunmi got scouted and signed on Ice Models Milan. A similar opportunity played out for Imade, Favour Lucky, Cynthia and Queen (winner of NNSM 2014 who shot for VOGUE paid editorial during Milan Fashion Week) who are now signed on Brave Models Milan. Unfortunately, Favour Lucky could not make due to her academic commitments. With these events in Milan, this lends credence to the fact that autochthonous brand, ISIS Models Africa is rapidly positioning models on the world stage especially coming from a country its fashion industry has an inexplicable engouement for stunting the growth of models. These events would remain indelibly etched in the memories of these models who won’t rest on their oars until they reach the zenith of their career. This is an achievable feat.Below are pictures of ISIS models rocking various designer’s pieces at the recently held Milan Fashion Week S/S 2016.
