Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 3.4K Rihanna has always been extremely celebrated for her sense of fashion, the millionaire could literally sneeze on a top and that top will make headlines the following day. From shoots to music videos, to paparazzi shots to maternity wear, the Barbadian singer, actress, and businesswoman Robyn Rihanna Fenty NH sets everything trending amongst those that can afford it. However, although her recent looks are still heavily covered in the press, are nowhere near as much as they would previously do on the net and on blogs. Nigerian Menswear Brand Onwuchekwa by Chikezie Daniel Unveils their SS19 Collection Titled Monument One will think the ‘Umbrella’ singer is not making many appearances, but she definitely is. Unfortunately, it seems she may not be serving the usual style of looks the mainstream media and fashion blogs are excited about covering, and here is why. Not only is Rihanna’s latest outfits not the conventional skin showing, red carpet, or international fashion brand that is usually expected of her. Rihanna has recently been rocking urban streetwear style clothes and even more so branded with hip hop artists’ brands. What makes this even worst is these are not the typical fowl mouth artists of today that literally spew backward lyrics that are heavily adored by western media. The artists are fairly on the other end of this spectrum. The first main urban look Rihanna had rocked since giving birth was mid-August 2022 when she stepped in an oversized vintage T-shirt by RZA, and an adorable frayed black denim mini skirt by R13 that just brushed the top of the boots. For those who are unaware of the RZA, RZA is the founder of the Wu-Tang clan. RZA is no saint in the realms of rap music especially battling with his inner demons and rap alter-ego ‘Bobby Digital’. However, there is no denying that RZA has expressed many conscious, political, and revolutionary sentiments in his music, and he is far from embracing the brain-numbing approach to music as loved by many mainstream publications. But Rihanna’s urban mission didn’t end there. She was also recently spotted in a Fan Mail to, and then just yesterday spotted in a No Limit Jersey as seen below. No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, and more. The music was undeniably violent among other things. However, Master P to date is the only rapper that bred a host of rappers under the independent banner with real success. Unlike Puff Daddy, Dr. Dre, Jay Z, and any other successful record label owner in the past no ‘white man’ was milking the success of No Limit records. As of today, No Limit records is the only successful set of hip hop records that if you purchase, the royalty and beneficiaries are strictly African Americans. Hence why the record label has always faced struggles breaking into the pop circles. Not sure if Rihanna is making a conscious statement by selecting these artists. As artists, especially celebrity ones, wearing other artists’ brands is usually only done when giving a strong sign of personal support to the artist. However, this doesn’t seem personal, but more like a statement. Maybe this is Rihanna’s way of sending a message through musicians.
