More Articles You Would Love Exclusive Images & Review of Congo Fashion Week 2012 – True African Fashion See Pictures From Neskael Corporate Fashion Show With multiple shows over the three-day period, the festival grants top-notch South African designers – both legends of past and up-and-coming household names – a platform to unveil their 2013 spring and summer collections. Firm fashion favourites like Thula Sindi, Craig Port, Rosenwerth, Habits and Lalesso (previously called La Kanga), to name but a few, are billed to display their glamorous garments, everyday wear, wedding couture and even boxer briefs. What’s more, emerging artists like Mr Price & Elle New Talent Award winners Anisa Malembo Mpungwe (Loin Cloth & Ashes) and Marize Malan (Morphe) are just two of the up-and-coming designers who will be joining the elite crew of trendy exhibitors at this annual couture conference. Last year, David Tlale’s weirdly wonderful collection had mixed reviews, and revered fashion designer Gavin Rajah’s grand display of chic suits and glam gowns were a hit, and once more, fashion fundis are, no doubt, eager to see what the latest fashion trends are and which designers’ lines will sizzle or fizzle on the runway in 2013. Apart from checking out the competition, business savvy fashionistas can also look forward to getting the lowdown on how to sustain themselves financially while creating clothes. Not to mention, AFI have put together a show affording interns who are still studying at institutions affiliated to the organisation the opportunity to put forward a showcase of their couture lines. Tickets for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week Tickets for the shows are now live and available via Webtickets.co.za, and costs range from R60p/p to R250p/p; space is limited.
