The 2020 edition of the highly anticipated Golden Movie Awards finally took place on Saturday 19th December. Golden Movies Awards is an annual award that celebrates outstanding achievement in African television and film. The inaugural edition was held on 27 June 2015 at the State Banquet Hall, Ghana. In May 2016, Nadia Buari was unveiled as an ambassador for the award. The 2016 edition was hosted by Uti Nwachukwu and Selly Galley on 25 June. For five years running, the event has brought actors and actresses, filmmakers, seasoned film critics, representatives of the Arts, Culture and Tourism ministries as well as other stakeholders in the African film industry together to celebrate and honor the industry’s most outstanding achievements within the year under review, while discussing the best ways of improving on it. This year’s edition of the awards ceremony which is the fifth edition was originally scheduled for December 5 but had to be postponed to December 19 due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the organizers control.

This years award edition brought the Creme De La Creme of the movie industry under one roof to celebrate the achievement choked within the year under review. The celebrities who attended this year’s event included Joselyn Dumas, Beverly Afaglo, Angela Bamford, Martha Ankomah, Victoria Lebene, Van Vicker, MzGee, Akofa Adjeani, Fifi Coleman, Peter Richie, Too Sweet Annan, Vicky Zugah, Deborah Vanessa, Salma Mumin, Akuma Mama Zimbi, Moesha Bodoung, Elikem Kumordzie, Haille Sumney, Adjetey  Annan. etc The event was indeed a star studded one and we have come up with some of the best outfits we saw at last nights prestigious event.
