Gavachy incorporates kente in his designs in order to speak to the people. He shares his culture with those from far as he reminds his fellow Ghanaians of the rich culture they are made of. History has it that the colors and patterns in one’s kente cloth convey a particular message to spectators although lately, people choose kente designs just by looking at them without considering what message it sends across.

Kente is fabric with meaning. It speaks a language that the people understand.

 

It is fascinating how he fuses kente into the corporate lifestyle, releasing a couple onto the runway and leaving the audience desiring the matching suits with a hint of kente and noting them down as relationship goals.

 

His collection also features other African prints which are paired with fringes, denim and a little bit of ‘shimmer and glimmer’. Also, are customized Gavachy t-shirts with a slight twist in the style for the ladies such as one sleeve tops with thrilling necklines.

 

He is an art lover who never leaves the art out of his creations using art oriented fabrics that give life to the clothes he makes. It just feels like someone merged a painting with fabric and then transformed it into an outfit. You can literally walk around clad in your favourite painting. Imagine that!
