International, controversial and eclectic Ghanaian musician, Wanlov Kubolo surprised the nation when he decided to leave his home in a suit. Despite already being a gentle soul, he was never expected to be seen dressed as a gentle man.

 

Wanlov’s reluctance to dress as the norm has always been a part of his distinction contributing to his success and in some cases his limitations. However, recently he was spotted in a suit, read below to see what the reason was.

Well, Wanlov plays Mr. Engelemeyer in the play, The Seamstress of St Francis Street which showed from November 25-26th of November as part activities to promote activism against Gender-based violence. Wanlov who wears many hats in the arts, was cast to play the role of Mr. Engelmeyer in The Seamstress of St. Francis Street, a stage play about about 2 women who were raped by their uncle as they grew up. In the play which took place over the weekend, Wanlov is an African American rep from Spanish fashion house, Balenciaga who tries to hoodwink local talents through unscrupulous means.

So fortunately and unfortunately for some, it’s not a change in his style, but it does give us a glimpse of what Wanlov will look like if he did.
