Zalia: I chose this path to restore confidence in our black beauty. I wanted to showcase the elegance and strength of our natural features. fG: How important do you feel it is to represent natural African hairstyles? Zalia: I carry a great responsibility with my afro hair because, in one way or another, I represent many black women like me. I have a duty to show the world the beauty of our hair and to encourage the next generation not to feel the need to straighten their hair. My representation with afro hair is very important in promoting self-acceptance and pride in our natural beauty. fG: Don’t you feel shy when walking down the street? Zalia: I never feel shy parading on the streets of France. Today, I carry great self-confidence. When I walk, I feel like the most beautiful woman on the planet with the most powerful hair in the world, hair that carries stories of strength, courage, and determination. fG: What are your three favorite brands? Zalia: I currently appreciate two African brands, @veekeejames and @Claudekameni. My goal is to gain visibility and collaborate with big brands in the fashion world.
