South African Grammy-winning sensation Tyla has fiercely spoken out against the brutal bullying that led to Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a Miss South Africa finalist, stepping down from the competition. Adetshina, who has Nigerian and Mozambican roots, found herself at the heart of a fiery nationality debate after making it to the Top 16 in the Miss South Africa pageant.

The drama intensified when the South African Department of Home Affairs raised allegations that Adetshina’s mother might have been involved in fraud and identity theft. Despite being a strong contender in the Top 11, the relentless scrutiny and accusations forced Adetshina to withdraw from the pageant.

Tyla, clearly outraged, took to social media to express her disappointment over the situation. Sharing the news of Adetshina’s exit on X, she wrote: “Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best girl. Kill it!”

In a strong show of support, she added, “I will always stand with South Africa, I just feel regardless of the opinions… She was bullied, and that’s what I don’t stand for.”

Tyla’s comments have ignited discussions online, as many rally behind her stand against bullying in the beauty pageant world.
