Let’s face it, before Winnie, Vitiligo was that ‘disease’ that only impacted sorrow on our well beings when we came across a victim. It was only half a decade ago where there was a slight appreciation for those with vitiligo on the runway. But none looked so beautiful nor took hold of the stigma by the horns and rocked it to the maximum.

Winnie Harlow didn’t enter the scene as a victim or someone who felt she had to explain her unique skin. She got on the runway like any other super model, worked the clubs like any other celebrity, got semi nude in magazines like any other star, and single handedly changed the perception of vitiligo, or atleast within the world of fashion.
